Free access to the truth and the open struggle for it are the cornerstones of every free society. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This thesis makes a fundamental claim: <strong>truth must always be allowed to be told, sought, heard and discussed &#8211; regardless of laws, political interests or social taboos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why is this so important?<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the history of mankind, it was often those truths that were initially suppressed that were later recognized as groundbreaking:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Galileo Galilei was condemned by the Church for telling the truth about the solar system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whistleblowers and whistleblowers were persecuted for bringing criminal or corrupt systems to light.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dissidents in dictatorships were imprisoned for speaking uncomfortable truths.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Censorship never protects the truth &#8211; it always protects power.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The fallacy behind \u201cforbidden truths\u201d<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laws that ban certain statements or research across the board implicitly claim that the truth is dangerous. But truth can be challenging &#8211; it can question power relations, shake up world views, bring new insights. But it is never dangerous in itself &#8211; only for those who fear it.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A healthy society does not need a monopoly on truth &#8211; it needs <strong>transparency, debate, error correction and pluralism<\/strong>. Only through freedom of speech can error be distinguished from truth. Censorship, on the other hand, makes the two indistinguishable.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Legal and ethical principles<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Article 5 of the German Basic Law guarantees freedom of opinion, information and the press &#8211; <em>\u201cThere shall be no censorship.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Art. 19) guarantees the right <em>\u201cto seek, receive and impart information and ideas by any means and regardless of frontiers.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laws that criminalize dissenting opinions or uncomfortable truths are incompatible with these principles. Even if they are justified with \u201chate speech\u201d, \u201cdisinformation\u201d or \u201cthreat to public order\u201d &#8211; they do not create order, but mistrust and bans on thought. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our position<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We2030 is resolutely opposed to all forms of state, media or technocratic censorship.
