It does not lead to maturity, but to obedience &#8211; not to responsibility, but to submission. A society that acts out of fear is not acting freely.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Democratic leadership is based on trust, not fear.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fear as an instrument of power &#8211; an old pattern<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout history, fear has been used as a political tool:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Inquisition stirred up fear of heresy in order to secure spiritual power.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under National Socialism, fear of \u201cenemies within\u201d was instrumentalized to suspend basic rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In authoritarian states, fear of the \u201cexternal enemy\u201d is used to justify oppression.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Today, it is fear of disease, terror, climate, social unrest &#8211; always combined with the statement: <em>\u201cYou are only safe if you obey us.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Modern forms of fear politics<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Panic communication in the media and government<\/strong>: shock images, death tolls, apocalyptic scenarios.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Generation of social ostracism<\/strong>: Anyone who disagrees risks ostracism, professional loss or defamation in the media.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Blackmail through fear<\/strong>: \u201cIf you don&#8217;t get vaccinated, you&#8217;ll lose your job.\u201d &#8211; \u201cIf you don&#8217;t comply, you&#8217;ll endanger others.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These forms of politics are deeply anti-democratic. They prevent debate, block individual consideration and create a climate of powerlessness.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why fear is so effective &#8211; and so dangerous<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fear is an archaic reflex. It narrows the view, paralyzes the mind and makes us seek authority, even if this authority is destructive. Those who are afraid want security &#8211; and are prepared to sacrifice freedom for it.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But security based on fear is not real security. It is an illusion &#8211; and a surrender of sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What a free society needs<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Courage instead of scaremongering<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Clarification instead of threats<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Empathy instead of division<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Responsibility instead of heteronomy<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Government action must be based on reason, transparency and trust. Not shock, guilt and shame.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our position<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We2030 stands for a new political culture based on trust instead of fear.
