However, they are not doing it for the sake of humanity, but <strong>as part of a business model<\/strong> &#8211; a highly profitable, globally active sector whose primary goal is not health, but <strong>growth and profit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Almost all leading pharmaceutical companies are <strong>listed stock corporations.<\/strong> This means that they are legally and structurally obliged to <strong>maximize value for their shareholders.<\/strong> Their success is not measured by how many people are healthy &#8211; but by how many paying \u201ccustomers\u201d in need of treatment can be retained in the long term.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In business terms, a healed person is a lost market.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is therefore <strong>no incentive for a sustainable cure<\/strong> &#8211; even if it were theoretically possible. Instead, structure, marketing and politics promote a system <strong>of chronic dependencies,<\/strong> ever new therapies, long-term medication and anticipatory prevention programs &#8211; all controlled by a network of interests and influence.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is reality today<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The coronavirus crisis has exposed and exacerbated this dangerous concentration of power:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Governments conclude contracts worth billions with corporations &#8211; often under confidentiality clauses, without the right of withdrawal, without liability.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Advisory bodies are staffed by industry-related players<\/strong> who are also active in foundations, institutes or lobby groups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Promotional narratives are presented as \u201cscientific consensus\u201d<\/strong>, while real scientific debate is suppressed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Censorship of critical doctors, journalists and scientists<\/strong> takes place digitally, legally and socially.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Approval processes and studies are subject to massive conflicts of interest<\/strong>: Manufacturers finance, test and publish their own data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Warning signals about side effects<\/strong> &#8211; as with the COVID \u201cvaccination\u201d &#8211; were not discussed publicly, but <strong>deliberately concealed<\/strong>, in some cases demonstrably covered up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There were already <strong>indications of serious side effects in the manufacturers&#8217; internal studies<\/strong>, but this information was <strong>not made transparent, but actively suppressed<\/strong>. The same pattern can be found in countless previous scandals &#8211; from <strong>thalidomide<\/strong> to <strong>Vioxx<\/strong> to <strong>opioids<\/strong>:<br\/><strong>Profits were maximized while the risks were outsourced &#8211; and the victims ignored.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why this is dangerous<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A system that <strong>sees<\/strong> health <strong>not as a goal<\/strong> but as a market produces systemic injustice, suffering and loss of trust:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Health is becoming a commodity<\/strong> &#8211; only accessible if you are able to pay, conform or are politically compliant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The political agenda is merging with corporate interests<\/strong> &#8211; laws, recommendations and \u201cnecessities\u201d are not the result of ethics, but of calculation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The common good is subordinated<\/strong> &#8211; to the quarterly balance sheet, the share price, shareholder value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Democratic control is replaced by institutionalized intransparency.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Such a system is not sick &#8211; it is structurally corrupt. And it jeopardizes the foundations of any solidary understanding of health.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our position<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We2030<\/strong> demands:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>clear, complete separation<\/strong> of the pharmaceutical industry and health policy decision-making powers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>public and independent review of all conflicts of interest and power interdependencies<\/strong>, especially since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The introduction of <strong>international regulations<\/strong> to permanently prevent a merger of economic power and political control in the healthcare sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>full liability of manufacturers for all consequential costs, damages and deaths<\/strong> associated with defective products, manipulated studies or concealed risks &#8211; regardless of previous exclusions of liability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>retroactive annulment of all contracts<\/strong> that were based on <strong>false assumptions and deliberate deception<\/strong>&#8211; especially if:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>decision-makers <strong>were not fully informed<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>critical information<\/strong> was <strong>suppressed<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Study results<\/strong> were <strong>manipulated or selectively published<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and if the conclusion of these contracts took place to <strong>the exclusion of parliamentary control and public debate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contracts based on lies are <strong>null and void<\/strong>.<br\/>Political decisions that were reached under deception <strong>must be reversed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A constitutional state must not allow corporations to shirk their <strong>responsibilities with political blessing<\/strong> while millions of people bear the consequences &#8211; health, economic and social.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pharma must not be allowed to dictate global policy.<\/strong><br\/>And certainly not on the basis of deception, blackmail and immunity.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Those who have profited must be held liable.<\/strong><br\/><strong>Those who have been deceived must be protected.<\/strong><br\/><strong>And those who bear responsibility must face up to it &#8211; unreservedly and publicly.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Explanation and justification Pharmaceutical research and medical care can save lives.
