{"id":1136,"date":"2025-05-27T08:28:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-27T05:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wir2030.com\/?p=1136"},"modified":"2025-05-27T08:32:41","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T05:32:41","slug":"thesis-44-belief-in-institutions-is-no-substitute-for-personal-responsibility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wir2030.com\/en\/2025\/05\/27\/thesis-44-belief-in-institutions-is-no-substitute-for-personal-responsibility\/","title":{"rendered":"Thesis 44: Belief in institutions is no substitute for personal responsibility."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Explanation and justification<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Institutions are created for people &#8211; not the other way around.<br \/>But in times of crisis, we regularly experience the opposite:<br \/>Instead of thinking, examining and acting independently, many people cling to authorities, expert councils and supranational organizations as if they were a superior truth.<br \/>They delegate responsibility upwards &#8211; and hope for security through obedience.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But blind faith in institutions has nothing to do with trust &#8211; it is an expression of fear, of comfort and often also of an education in dependency.<br \/>Yet history shows this time and again:<br \/><strong>Even large institutions make mistakes. And sometimes they fail dramatically. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When institutions become substitute religions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the modern age, churches have lost influence &#8211; but new belief systems have taken their place:<br \/>The Robert Koch Institute, the WHO, the CDC or EMA are now considered the final authorities in many debates.<br \/>What is decided there is considered incontestable &#8211; even if previous wrong decisions have long been documented.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Examples?<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In 2009, the WHO declared a <strong>global pandemic<\/strong> due to <strong>mild swine flu<\/strong> &#8211; under pressure from advisory bodies with pharmaceutical interests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For years, the RKI advised against masks &#8211; then against compulsory masks &#8211; then against a combination of masks &#8211; then against multiple boosters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The CDC defended erroneous data on vaccine safety &#8211; and later had to admit that <strong>myocarditis and pericarditis<\/strong> \u201cmay have been underreported\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And yet:<br \/>Anyone who publicly addressed these contradictions was considered a \u201cdenier\u201d, a \u201cswearer\u201d or \u201clacking in solidarity\u201d.<br \/><strong>Criticism<\/strong> thus became <strong>heresy<\/strong> &#8211; and error became the method.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What personal responsibility really means<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Don&#8217;t believe everything just because it comes from above.<\/strong>  Authority is no substitute for truth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Weigh up decisions yourself<\/strong> &#8211; with reason, emotion and conscience, not with fear or peer pressure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Take responsibility for your own life<\/strong> instead of externalizing guilt and solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Courage to be uncomfortable<\/strong> when institutions contradict themselves or fail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Check for yourself<\/strong>, even if it&#8217;s exhausting &#8211; because otherwise others will decide the consequences for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When \u201csolidarity\u201d becomes a weapon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In authoritarian systems, oppression happens through coercion.<br \/>In modern democracies, it often happens through <strong>moral pressure<\/strong> &#8211; in the name of <strong>solidarity<\/strong>.<br \/>But if solidarity is not voluntary but enforced, it is no longer a virtue &#8211; but an instrument of subjugation.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Solidarity that is not based on togetherness, but on obedience,<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>does not<\/strong> tolerate <strong>any deviation<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>knows <strong>no exception<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>demands <strong>collective conformity<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and makes the individual <strong>responsible for the consequences of institutional errors.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This is why the individualization of people must always take precedence over collectivist egalitarianism.<\/strong><br \/><strong>Collectivism has never been a protection for people in history &#8211; it has almost always been a tool for their oppression.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In such moments, an inalienable right is needed:<br \/><strong>The right to resist.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A genuine, protected, respected right &#8211;<br \/>not as the last nail in the coffin of history,<br \/>but as a <strong>fundamental cultural principle<\/strong>:<br \/><strong>Anyone who sets conscience against order must not be declared an enemy.<\/strong><br \/><strong>Anyone who accepts responsibility must not be punished for failing to act.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because:<br \/>True solidarity begins with respect for the decision of the individual.<br \/>And anyone who refuses to act when the collective is on the wrong track<br \/>is not acting without solidarity &#8211; but <strong>responsibly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What happens when institutions are idolized<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>People stop acting &#8211; they <strong>wait for permission.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orders from the authorities replace ethical decisions &#8211; and <strong>conscience is delegated<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dissent is morally sanctioned &#8211; and <strong>deviation<\/strong> is branded <strong>as a threat<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Errors remain uncorrected because admitting them would be tantamount to a loss of authority.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Society becomes controllable &#8211; <strong>but no longer free<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the state no longer asks: \u201cWhat is true?\u201d &#8211; but only: \u201cWho is allowed to speak?\u201d &#8211; democracy is in danger.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The price of incapacitation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who idolize institutions relinquish their responsibility.<br \/>Those who relinquish responsibility lose their freedom.<br \/>Those who lose their freedom are not protected &#8211; they are controlled.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The price is a society of obedient but disoriented people.<br \/>They follow, but they don&#8217;t understand.<br \/>They obey, but they don&#8217;t trust.<br \/>They hope that others know better &#8211; and realize too late when they are mistaken or instrumentalizing.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our position<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our position<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We2030 says:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Institutions are important &#8211; but not infallible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trust is good &#8211; but only on the basis of transparency, accountability and the ability to take criticism.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsibility <strong>does not<\/strong> begin in Geneva, Atlanta or Berlin &#8211; but with the individual.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you want to be free, you have to decide for yourself &#8211; <strong>and be allowed to make mistakes.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We demand an education system that produces responsible people &#8211; no administrative assistants, no parrots, no expert priests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And we demand:<br \/><strong>A constitutionally guaranteed and individually applicable right of resistance<\/strong>,<br \/>which exists not only as a symbolic basic right,<br \/>but becomes <strong>concrete and effective<\/strong> &#8211; comparable to <strong>self-defense or a justifiable state of emergency<\/strong>.<br \/>This right of resistance must be designed in such a way,<br \/>that a person who feels threatened in his conscience and in his physical, mental or informal integrity,<br \/><strong>may interrupt state action immediately<\/strong> &#8211;<br \/><strong>solely by invoking this right.<\/strong><br \/>Anyone who invokes their fundamental right to resistance,<br \/>must be able to <strong>stop a police operation, a coercive measure or an institutional act immediately<\/strong>,<br \/>until a neutral body has examined the facts of the case.<br \/>Just as a police officer in the presence of an act of violence does not wait for an order to act,<br \/>but may act in self-defense,<br \/><strong>the free citizen must also have the right to stop injustice in its tracks &#8211; in a word, not by force.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cI invoke my right to resist.<\/strong>\u201d<br \/>&#8211; That must be enough to interrupt an action &#8211; and call its legitimacy into question.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because a fundamental right that can only be <strong>claimed in court after the event<\/strong>,<br \/>is not a right &#8211; but an act of mercy.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Freedom must work in the moment &#8211; not in retrospect.<\/strong><br \/><strong>Resistance must be legal, alive and protected &#8211; not symbolic, suppressed or censored.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Because democracy does not thrive on belief in authority &#8211; but on the courage to take responsibility for oneself.<\/strong><br \/><strong>And freedom only arises where people are prepared to live with the consequences of their own thinking.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Belief in institutions is no substitute for personal responsibility.<\/strong><br \/><strong>And genuine solidarity requires the courage to deviate.<\/strong><br \/><strong>Because without the right to resist, duty becomes submission.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Explanation and justification Institutions are created for people &#8211;
